Rev Paul R Howes comes from a line of East Anglian farmers but first worked for 8 years as a Building Surveyor in Ipswich and Southampton. A Methodist from birth, he trained for ministry at the Anglican and Methodist Queen's College, Birmingham. Rev Paul is anxious to encourage churches to be a movement for mission and to view their premises as a resource for mission. He served churches at Telford, Pudsey & Gidea Park before coming in 2000 to be Superintendent of the Clacton on Sea Circuit. | |

Pastor
David Bavister was born in Dunstable into a Salvation Army family. David
became a Methodist when he met and married Gill. He has held several
positions in the Church including Youth Worker, Church Steward and Circuit
Steward. David trained in Business management and was the Production and
Inventory Controller for a large medical company. he subsequently worked
as a Resource and Careers Manager at a large comprehensive school in
Clacton. David became Pastor to the Jaywick section of the circuit in
September 2002. Pastor David says that throughout his life God has used his skills to help others and feels that God has called him to minister as a Pastor to the community.

Gill Bavister Fresh Expressions Explorer Gill was appointed in January 2007 as a Lay Worker in the role of Fresh Expressions Explorer. Having lived in the Clacton area all her life, she has seen many changes and is looking forward to the opportunities of sharing the gospel as she explores the communities within Rush Green, Gt. Clacton and Jaywick. She is married to David (who is a Lay Pastor) and has enjoyed their shared ministry so far. Most of Gill’s working life was as a Special Needs Teacher, and before taking up this new role, she was working at the University of Essex, in the library. She is currently training as a Local Preacher.
